Weekend spa breaks are an increasingly
popular getaway option for those seeking a bit of chill-out
time at the end of a long tiring week. What could be more welcome
than a relaxing massage in the plush surroundings of a luxury
health resort, or dipping into a luxurious jacuzzi or heated
swimming pool and letting the stress of the week fade away?
Sounds like heaven, doesn't it?
If a weekend spa break gets your vote, you won't be lacking
in choice of health resorts. There are hundreds of spa breaks
to choose from in the UK. Luxury hotels in traditional spa towns
are among the favourites, as are country retreats hidden away
in romantic destinations. With the ever-expanding number of
budget flights available from UK airports these days, you also
have an opportunity to enjoy a weekend spa break abroad without
it costing you a fortune. You could fly to the French Alps and
enjoy the clean mountain air at a prestigious spa resort, or
you could journey to Italy, Spain or further east for a weekend
of pampering and holistic therapy in the sun. You'll come back
relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to face the world again - that
much you are guaranteed! |

Planning a weekend
spa break is easy. Just book your break and choose your spa
treatments when you arrive. Many health farms include a limited
number of spa treatments in the price, and some let you book
sessions in advance. For the ultimate pamper experience why
not opt for a full body massage, followed by manicure, pedicure
and facial, and then an Indian head massage. Finish off with
a swim in the resort's pool and perhaps a dip in the jacuzzi.
It's pampering at its best! |

Included in the price
of your stay is your accommodation for the weekend. This can
be arranged over one or two nights. For longer weekend breaks
you can extend your stay to take in another night or two at
select health resorts.
Unless you opt for a self-catering arrangement, breakfast will
be the main meal included in your health break package. Don't
expect a full-english with fried bread though. The menu is likely
to be a lot healthier than what you'd find at a traditional
holiday resort, the emphasis being on good nutrition and detox.
All-inclusive health breaks add lunch and an evening meal to
the mix. Again, you'll be presented with a balanced meal programme
geared towards a healthy lifestyle. |

Spa breaks are not just about rest and relaxation. At many health resorts you'll have full access to a range of health and fitness equipment, as well as exercise and body toning classes. You can get fit, lose weight and relax all in one weekend. Some spa resorts also provide outdoor activities for guests to enjoy. If you've ever fancied a weekend of cycling and horse riding, followed by yoga meditation and massage a weekend spa break could be just what you've been looking for! |
